Whenever traveling in Cuba, I use the train as much as possible

  Why?

Since I was a child, I always liked to travel by train – Cuba being the only Caribbean Country that has a scheduled and reliable passenger service I certainly will continue this tradition

  Reason of this page?

Throughout these pages, I will show you that it is possible and efficient to use the train to cross all of Cuba

I hope these pages will give you insights of the journeys I have made and give you tips and useful information so you can do the same

These pages are dedicated to people interested in using the Cuban Railway System as the members of the Yahoo “CubanRailways” group and people interested in travel possibilities within Cuba

Travelling trough the whole Cuba by train?

You can see from the above links that I traveled from Habana to Guantanamo by train although I did not use all the possible routes

  Why?

Caibarien to Santa Clara: Not being a morning person, I did not want to get up so early to catch the train (train leaves about at 4'o clock)

Guantanamo to Santiago de Cuba: Since there are no direct trains to Santiago de Cuba and the indirect route would take quite a while, I opted to use the trucks, which are very quick.
